Before Installing Xampp. Remove all packages of mysql, appacher and php. Otherwise Deadlock condition will occur
# yum remove mysql*
# yum remove httpd*
#yum remove php*
[root@www Desktop]# ls
xampp-linux-1.8.1.tar.gz
[root@www Desktop]# mv xampp-linux-1.8.1.tar.gz /opt
[root@www Desktop]# cd /opt
[root@www opt]# ls
xampp-linux-1.8.1.tar.gz
[root@www opt]# tar xvzf xampp-linux-1.8.1.tar.gz
[root@www opt]# ls
lampp xampp-linux-1.8.1.tar.gz
[root@www lampp]# ./lampp
